Hosted by Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs, the 1 Degree of Separation preventative entertainment series blends laughter and comedy with an authentic sharing of the comedians' lived experiences of depression. This program is open to all active duty and reserve Sailors, family members and DOD civilians.
The show’s aim is to spark dialogue, raise awareness, and foster acceptance for those suffering from depression through a combination of laughter and shared vulnerability. The comedians use humor to address dark topics because laughter helps release pain by openly discussing depression to break the cycle of shame. With a team of comedians, their collective mission is to eliminate the stigma surrounding depression and share stories of hope, happiness, and triumph.
